Ms Marla GuensIer <br /> Exxon Company,U SA <br /> March 19, 1997 <br /> Page 2 <br /> -Qr4und Water Ana cal Results <br /> Ground water samples collected from monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-8 on February 7, 1997, <br /> were submitted to Sequoia Analytical (a California-certified Iaboratory) for analysis of benzene, <br /> toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) using EPA Method 8020, and total purgeable <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons (TPPH) as gasoline using DHS LUFT Method Ground water analytical <br /> results are summarized in Table 2 A copy of the laboratory analytical report with chain of custody <br /> documentation is presented in Enclosure B <br /> Analytical results reported benzene concentrations above the laboratory detection limit in the ground <br /> water samples collected from MW-3 and MW-4 at concentrations of 8 1 micrograms per liter (pg/L), <br /> and 14 ug/L, respectively A dissolved benzene concentration map based on analytical results for <br /> ground water samples collected during the first quarter 1997 site visit is included as Figure 4 Ground <br /> water samples collected from the remaining wells did not report any analyte at or above the laboratory's <br /> limits of detection <br /> Future Wont <br />. The next quarterly monitoring event for this site is scheduled for April 1997 Delta and Exxon are <br /> currently negotiating with the property owners north of the site for placement of proposed ground water <br /> monitoring well MW-9 A work plan dated February 27, 1997,was submitted to San Joaquin County to <br /> evaluate potential petroleum hydrocarbons present in the soil north of the site <br /> e r <br /> The interpretations contained in this report represent our professional opinions, and are based in part on <br /> information supplied by the client These opinions are based on currently available information and are <br /> arrived at in accordance with currently accepted hydrogeologic and engineering practices at this time <br /> and location Other than this,no warranty is implied or intended. <br /> Delta recommends that copies of this report be forwarded to <br /> Mr Michael J Infurna Ms Elizabeth Thayer <br /> Environmental Health Division California Regional Water Quality Control Board, <br /> Public Health Services Central Valley Region <br /> San Joaquin County 3443 Routier Road <br /> Post Office Box 2009 Sacramento,California 95827-3098 <br /> Stockton,California 95201 <br />
