SS E C 0 R Additional Site Assessment and Site Conceptual Model 7-11 Store#14117 September 30, 2005 Page 5 site (SECOR, Conceptual Site Model, Chevron 9-4054 2903 Country Club Boulevard, Stockton, California, May 14, 2003) These fluctuations appear to result in a net zero gradient over an extended period of time (SECOR, Additional Site Assessment Report and Fate and Transport Model, February 27, 2004) 2 2.2 Groundwater Use Groundwater provides approximately 22 percent of the water supply and is used extensively as a source of drinking and irrigation water (USGS, 1996) 2 3 Surface Water The following three surface water bodies are located within one mile of the site (Figure 1) ® Calaveras River 4,500 feet to the northwest * Smith Canal 1,300 feet to the south-southeast The Stockton Deep Water Channel of the San Joaquin River 3,000 feet to the southwest 2.4 Local Land Use Land use in the area is primarily commercial to the south and east Residential property is located to the north and west of the site 2 4.1 Aerial Photograph Review SECOR did not conduct an aerial photograph review for this report 2 4.2 Topographic Map Review SECOR reviewed the United States Geological Survey (USGS) 7 5 Minute Quadrangle topographic map of West Stockton, California to identify physiographic features such as streams, lakes, site development, and vicinity development No lakes or streams other than the three noted in section 2 3 are evident within one mile of the site 3 0 PREVIOUS INVESTIGATIONS On July 17, 1998, three 10,000-gallon single-walled USTs were removed from the site The UST excavation was extended to the east, and two new 10,000-gallon double-walled steel USTs were installed The new tanks were installed in a tank pit located east of the original UST locations One ten-inch diameter Schedule 40 polyvinylchloride (PVC) conductor casing was installed in the new UST pit between the new tanks for future installation of well MW-2 On September 29 and October 2, 1998, Fluor-Daniel GTI advanced six offsite (OSGP-1 • through OSGP-6) and 11 onsite (GP-7 through GP-17) Geoprobe® soil borings (Table 2 and Figure 2) The offsite borings were located north of the 7-Eleven site in an apartment I W-Elevenk7-11 Stores1141171Reports114117 SCM and Additional Assessment doc Page 5
