IE C ® R <br /> W <br /> Additional Site Assessment and Site Conceptual Model <br /> 7-11 Store #14117 <br /> September 30, 2005 <br /> Page 7 <br /> the California Regional Water Quality Control Board Field notes for the geoprobe and CPT <br /> advancement are in Attachment C A report of the CPT work generated by Gregg Drilling <br /> and Testing, Inc is in attachment D <br /> 4.1 Site Health and Safety <br /> SECOR prepared a site-specific Health and Safety Plan for well installation and sampling <br /> activities at the site that included hand-augering, as required by the Occupational Health <br /> and Safety Administration (OSHA) Standard "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency <br /> Response" guidelines (29 CFR 1910 120) The document was reviewed and signed by <br /> SECOR personnel and subcontractors performing work at the site <br /> 4 2 Permitting, Utility Location, and Access Agreements <br /> Well construction and soil boring permits were obtained from the SJCEHD prior to <br /> commencing field activities and an access agreement was obtained from the property <br /> owner for the advancement of GP-1, GP-2 and CPT-2 within the property adjacent and to <br /> the north of the 7-11 site (Attachment E) Additionally, an encroachment permit was <br /> obtained from the City of Stockton for the advancement of CPT-3 within the city right of way <br /> along Ryde Avenue (Attachment E) SECOR was unable to obtain a temporary access <br /> agreement from USA Petroleum Company for the advancement of proposed groundwater <br /> monitoring well MW-9 <br /> Prior to conducting subsurface work at the site, USA was contacted to delineate subsurface <br /> utilities near the site with surface markings In addition, a private utility locator service was <br /> contracted to clear each of the proposed drilling locations Due to the presence of <br /> underground utilities surrounding proposed groundwater monitoring well MW-10, it was not <br /> installed SECOR is currently working to obtain a temporary access agreement with the <br /> private property owner to install MW-10 approximately 15 feet southeast of the originally <br /> proposed location (Figure 2) <br /> Proposed shallow geoprobes GP-1 through GP-3 were not installed as planned as their <br /> originally proposed locations were inaccessible to the geoprobe rig Alternative locations <br /> for GP-1 and GP-2 were chosen approximately 50 feet to the north (Figure 2) <br /> 4 3 Soil Barings and Sampling <br /> CPT borings CPT-1 through CPT-3 were advanced to 110 feet bgs and shallow geoprobe <br /> borings GP-1 and GP-2 were advanced to 16 feet bgs Soil samples were collected from <br /> CPT-1 at approximately 60, 70, 80 and 105 feet bgs Shallow geoprobes borings GP-1 and <br /> GP-2 were continuously cored from five to fifteen feet bgs in GP-1 and GP-2 Sol] samples <br /> were collected from CPT-1 through CPT-3 using direct-push piston-type sampler while soil <br /> samples collected from GP-1 and GP-2 were collected using a Macro Core® sampling <br /> device Soil samples were collected by a SECOR field geologist working under the <br /> 117-Elevenl7-11 Stores1141171Reports114117 SCM and Additional Assessment doc Page 7 <br />
