Groundwater <br /> Sampling Method: One-inch diameter PVC well casing and screen was inserted <br /> down each borehole as a temporary well to facilitate collection of a <br /> grab groundwater sample. Each temporary well was screened <br /> across the water table. Groundwater samples were collected <br /> through the temporary PVC well using '/.-inch polyethylene tubing <br /> equipped with a ball check-valve. The check-valve end of the <br /> tubing was placed downhole into the water column, where the <br /> tubing was rapidly oscillated by hand in an up and down motion, <br /> thereby displacing water up through the tubing to the surface for <br /> sampling.
