Decontaminate sampling equipment in an Alconox solution and rinse with water prior to each
sampling run.
5_ Obtain soil samples at 5-foot intervals beginning at 5 feet bsg. Samples will be collected using
a Geoprobe soil sampling assembly pre-loaded with four 1.125-inch by 6-inch brass sleeves.
6. Preserve soil samples in the second brass sleeve by covering both ends with Teflon sheets,
capping, and sealing with tape.
7. Label and log samples on a chain-of-custody form.
8. Store samples in a chilled container and transport to a State-certified laboratory for analysis
of TPH-g, TPH-d, BTE&X and MTBE in accordance with EPA methods 8015m, 8020/602
and 8260.
9. Monitor soil sample duplicates for the presence of organic vapor using a photo-ionization
detector (PID) pre-calibrated to isobutylene.
10. Log soil sample duplicates in accordance with the Unified Soil Classification System.
11. Backfill each probing to surface grade using portland type II cement.
4.2. GROUND WATER SA:tiIPL1NG
The following procedures will be performed for collection of grab ground water samples:
1. Collect a minimum of one grab ground water sample from all soil probe borings. Ground
water samples will be collected using a Geoprobe water sampling assembly. A ground water
sample will be collected at each sampling point in 40-m1 VOA vials containing hydrochloric
acid and one-liter amber bottles.
2. Transmit each ground water sample to a State-certified laboratory under chain-of-custody
procedure.
3. Yknalyze each ground water sample for TPH-g, TPH-d, BTE&X and MTBE in accordance
AC j Nvith EPA methods 8015m, 602 and 8260.
4.3. REPORT PREPARATION
Upon completion of probing, sampling and laboratory analysis, a report will be prepared summarizing
results of the work performed. The report will include recommendations for additional investigation
tdv,anced GeoEm'ironmental,Inc.
