Page 1 of
Vidal Pedraza [EH]
From: Jeff Carruesco [EH]
Sent: Tuesday, April 15, 2014 9:17 AM
To: Chip Arnett(chiparnett@yahoo.com)
Cc: Vidal Pedraza [EH]
Subject: Meeting
Hi Chip,
I received you letter and reviewed it. I also spoke to Pete Lemos at the City. You may want to call hin
directly to request a meeting. As for our department, we can send a separate letter to truck owners
reminding them of the necessity to use a commissary. However, in order to save time and money, we
would send this letter later in the year because we are already sending them an invoice so we could
simply package another letter in the same envelope.
Regarding the inventory that I gave you over the counter, the "NO ROUTINE" is not accurate. We are
up-to-date with all of our routine inspections of trucks. That was just a form that I generated and I
didn't take the time to put in parameters so the no routine indication is not accurate. Also, the way it
works best for us and the other commissary owners is that they are in touch with the district inspector
immediately when informed that a truck is no longer parking at your commissary. We go after each
and every one of them immediately when we find out that: They are no longer parking and storing at
your commissary.
We have parking spaces on a map at the other commissaries indicating the Name of the truck parked
in that spot. If they swap this vehicle out with another one then the commissary tells us and we updat(
our map. We know how many active permitted trucks are at our commissaries. The number of
vehicles permitted at a commissary is not exceeded at any of our commissaries. They all have a
designated parking space. We also meet with City of Stockton Public Works at commissaries to verify
properly functioning grease interceptors. They all have them.
So, I guess what I'm saying is that we really rely on the commissary operator/owner to keep us
informed when a change occurs or someone has paid upfront but you haven't seen them since. We
will go after them at that point when we hear from you or your manager. Your district inspector is
Leyna Huynh-- 468-3446 and her e-mail is:
Ihuynh(@.sjcehd.com
If you want to meet Thursday we can in the afternoon, maybe 1.30 at our office. Let me know.
Jeff
Jeff Carruesco, REHS Program Coordinator
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
1868 E.
