permitted for only 38 parking spaces. When compared to the trend data for our facility, 186%
inflation is not unlikely.
In consideration of public health and the law, La Comercial requests assistance from the County
Environmental Health Department in conjunction with City Code Enforcement. We suggest that
the County query each local commissary and update your database. Using the results of your
query, a notice should be sent to all facility operators requesting an update of tenant status.
Furthermore, it would be appropriate to require commissary operators to promptly inform your
department upon change of status for previously registered commissary customers. To do this,
we need the County to provide a central email for us to post to or some other preferred contact
point.
Referring again to the Facility Inventory report provided, this appears to be an inspection report
yet all facilities are marked as "no routine". We would support the County in an effort to conduct
regular inspections at all registered commissaries. It's a matter of public health!
We agreed that a"reminder"letter to all catering truck owner/operators couldn't hurt. This letter
should be drafted and signed by representatives of both County Environmental Health and City
Code Enforcement. It should address not only rules and consequences regarding commissary
parking but other enforcement issues that remain problems for both departments.
Food trucks are an increasingly important part of our community. We believe you agree that
enforcement changes are needed and hopefully these are effective suggestions you can take
action on. I would like an opportunity to meet with you and appropriate others to discuss our
proposal(s)and other ideas you may have to address these issues.
P.
