The results of the geotechnical testing may be used in the future for fate and transport
modeling of the contaminant plume. The samples were analyzed at Cooper Testing Laboratories of
Mountain View, California. The samples were tested for permeability (ASTM 5084), porosity (ASTM
5084), moisture content (ASTM 5084), bulk density (ASTM 5084), specific gravity (ASTM 854) and
organic carbon content (ASTM 2974).
4.0 INVESTIGATION RESULTS
4.1 Field Observations
Field observations made during the investigation include visual observations pertaining to site
geology and the detection of petroleum hydrocarbons by the OVA-PID and/or by odor. OVA-PID
' measurements and the presence of petroleum hydrocarbon odor are noted on boring logs for the 11
borings, included in Appendix C of this report, as a function of depth below ground surface.
' Borings GPI through GPI I encountered groundwater at approximately 11 feet bgs. The
t material encountered in all of the borings consisted'gencrally of fine grained sand and silty sand down
to between 12 and 15 feet bgs. Between 12 and 15 feet bgs most of the borings encountered silty
k
• CONDOR
