Pilkington North America,Inc.
Site Background
three monitoring wells. However, laboratory analytical results indicated that TPH-D was detected in the
' SE sump and TPH-MO in both the sumps (SE and SW). The TPH-MO detection in the SE sump was a
first time detection.
Five diesel recovery and skimmer O/M events were conducted at the Site between October 3, 2007 and
December 14, 2007. Free product was observed in recovery wells RW-1 through RW-4 and RW-6.
Approximately 0.80 gallon of product was recovered during the monitoring and skimming period.
Product recovery from the Site's recovery wells has produced a cumulative total of approximately 177.30
' gallons of recovered diesel.
During the first quarter 2008 groundwater monitoring event conducted on March 25, 2008, Condor
' sampled the three Site monitoring wells and the two facility sumps. The average groundwater elevation
measured in the three Site monitoring wells increased by approximately 1.43 feet since the previous
monitoring event. The calculated groundwater gradient was approximately 0.003 11/11 to the east. TPH-D,
' TPH-K, and TPH-MO were not detected at or above the laboratory reported detection limits in MW-1,
MW-3 and the SE-sump. However, laboratory analytical results indicated that TPH-D was detected in
MW-2 and the SW-sump, and TPH-MO was detected in the SW-sump.
' Seven diesel recovery and skimmer O/M events were conducted at the Site between January 25, 2008 and
May 16, 2008. Free product was observed in recovery wells RW-2 through RW-4. Approximately 2.40
gallons of product was recovered during the monitoring and skimming period. Product recovery from the
Site's recovery wells has produced a cumulative total of approximately 179.70 gallons of recovered
diesel.
' During the second quarter 2008 groundwater monitoring event conducted on May 21 and 22, 2008,
Condor sampled the three Site monitoring wells and the two facility sumps. The average groundwater
elevation measured in the three Site monitoring wells decreased by 0.81 feet since the previous
' monitoring event. The calculated groundwater gradient was approximately 0.0078 ft/ft to the south-
southeast. Laboratory analytical results indicated that TPH-D was detected in monitoring well MW-2 at
0.191 mg/L and TPH-MO was detected in the SW-sump at 0.568 mg/L. None of the constituents of
' concern were detected at or above laboratory-reported detection limits in monitoring wells MW-1 or
MW-3, or in the SE-sump.
' Thirteen diesel recovery and skimmer O/M events were conducted between May 22 and August 20, 2008.
Free product was observed in recovery wells RW-2, RW-3, and RW-4. The active skimmer was in
operation in recovery well RW-2 between June 20 and July 3, 2008. Approximately 2.3 gallons of
product was recovered during the monitoring and skimming period. Product recovery from the Site's
' recovery wells has produced a cumulative total of approximately 182.01 gallons of recovered diesel.
During the third quarter 2008 groundwater monitoring event conducted on August 19 and 20, 2008,
' Condor sampled the three Site monitoring wells and the two facility sumps. The average groundwater
elevation measured in the three monitoring wells decreased by approximately 0.29 feet since the previous
monitoring event. The calculated groundwater gradient was approximately 0.0029 ft/ft to the northeast.
' Laboratory analytical results indicated that TPH-D was detected in monitoring well MW-2 at 0.171 mg/L
and TPH-MO was detected in the SW-sump at 0.756 mg/L. None of the constituents of concern were
detected at or above laboratory-reported detection limits in monitoring wells MW-1 or MW-3, or in the
' SE-sump.
1
