Gerald Djuth of the CVRWQCB
instructed our client to prepare a work plan to investigate the possibility of an active leak from an additional
source. Condor prepared the requested work plan and it was approved in a letter dated December 15, 2010. The
report of findings is due April 1, 2011. We are preparing an application for a drilling permit for 9 borings, and
perhaps more step-outs, to a depth of 10 to 15 feet below ground surface. The work plan specifies that the
Geoprobe borings will be advanced to just above the water table. Continuous core samples will be collected for
screening and one section will be sent to a laboratory for analysis from each boring. There will be one drilling
contractor and all the borings will be on the one parcel shown above. I have already made a copy of the work plan
and work plan approval letter to be attached to the application for the drilling permit.
I had called your office to ask:
Does this project require a Unit IV application? yes
Is there an existing Master File Record? Frank said that there is one in the surface
file#2960 but not the water file#2965. The MFR is from 2005 showing Condor as the third party billing.
What are the total fees required for the application for this drilling permit? He indicated that the fees for the
permit would be$122 for the permit and $366 for the inspection for a total of$488.00. However, it was unclear if
additional fees were required for another MFR.
I had not noticed that Adrienne was sent a copy of the approval letter until I got off the phone with Frank. By then
he had put the files with a note on Lori's desk.
Bill A. Cook III, P. G., C. E.
