A
location map of the site is presented in Figure 1; a site plan depicting site features,
boring and well locations, and proposed soil boring locations is presented in Figure 2;
and an expanded view of the waste handling area (no structures are developed on the
solid waste area) with proposed soil boring and trenching locations is illustrated in
Figure 3.
BACKGROUND
In 1993, the facility was issued Solid Waste Information System (SWIS) number 39-CR-
0022 and assigned to the Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD). The LEA at the SJCEHD oversees state
designated landfill sites under the oversight and regulation of California's Department of
Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle); CalRecycle supervises the LEA with
site investigations and sampling plans, and coordinates investigation objectives.
In 1986, the handling of glass waste in the southern staging area was terminated; prior
to termination of glass waste handling, a pile of waste production glass was observed
on the southern portion of the property. A review of historical photographic views of the
property depicted disturbed soil pile areas and two small surface features which may
have received water from the glass waste areas.
837 Shaw Road •Stockton,CA 95215
Telephone(209)467-1006 •Fax(209)467-1118
