UST Removal Repan 1 <br /> The Southland Corporabon,Store#20632,4627 Davin Dr Stockton,CA December 11 1998 <br />' 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This report is submitted by Fluor Daniel GTI, Inc (Fluor Daniel GTI)summarizing underground storage <br /> tank(UST) removal activities conducted at Southland Store No 20632,4627 Davinci Drive, Stockton, <br /> California (Figures 1 and 2) The scope of work included 1) excavation, removal and offsite disposal <br /> of three USTs and associated product piping,2) collection and analysis of soil and groundwater from <br /> the UST excavation (Table 1 &2),3) collection and analysis of six soil samples from points underlying <br /> the former fuel dispensers and two soil samples from point underlying the UST vent lines, and 4) <br /> preparation of this report summarizing the methods and results of the work performed The work was <br /> designed to fulfill the requirements of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS) <br />' The soil sampling was conducted under the direction and observation of Mr Michael Kith of the San <br /> Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS) Maness Corporation removed the USTs and co- <br /> ordinated backfill and compaction of the UST excavation Field notes are included in appendix A <br /> t <br />' 2.0 UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> On October 21, 1998,Maness Corporation (Maness)of Long Beach, California triple rinsed the three <br /> 10,000-gallon single-walled steel USTs at the site Maness co-ordinated the removal of the nese <br /> water, triple nnse certification and waste water transport documentation will be forwarded once <br /> received Tank overburden was stockpiled adjacent to the UST excavation and/or loaded directly into <br /> trucks for removal <br /> On October 22, 1998, Maness co-ordinated the removal and disposal of the three USTs Mr Michael <br /> Kith of the SJCPHS was on site to witness the UST removal The USTs were removed from the <br /> excavation by Maness All three USTs were in fair condition with no visual holes and minor pitting The <br />' three tanks were loaded onto a trader and transported from the site by Ecology Control Industries (ECI) <br /> of Richmond,California to their facility in Richmond, California for disposal Tank disposal certificate <br /> will be forwarded once received <br /> 3.0 SOIL.ASSESSMENT WORK <br /> 3.1 Permitting/Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan <br /> Fluor Daniel GTI conducted a technical review of all relevant information prior to proceeding with soil <br />' sampling Applications for permits to remove the USTs were filed by Maness Corporation and <br /> approved by the SJCPHS <br /> Following a complete review of site conditions, Fluor Daniel GTI revised the existing site-specific Health <br /> and Safety Plan as required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration Standard Hazardous <br /> Waste Operations and Emergency Response guidelines(29 Code of Federal Regulations 1910 120) <br /> The document was reviewed and signed by all Fluor Daniel GTI personnel and subcontractors prior to <br />' commencement of work at the site <br /> . zoa�zsna-i <br /> FLUOR DANIEL GTI <br /> i� <br />
