4. HAZARD ASSESSMENT <br /> Periodic inspections to identify and evaluate workplace hazards shall be <br /> performed by the Maintenance Department, according to the following schedule: <br /> ■ When our Injury and Illness Prevention Program was first established. <br /> ■ At least monthly. <br /> ■ When new substances, processes, procedures or equipment that present <br /> potential new hazards are introduced into our workplace. <br /> ■ When new, previously unidentified hazards are recognized. <br /> ■ When occupational injuries and illnesses occur. <br /> ■ When we hire and/or reassign permanent or intermittent workers to <br /> processes, operations, or tasks for which a hazard evaluation has not <br /> been previously conducted. <br /> ■ Whenever workplace conditions warrant an inspection. <br /> Periodic inspections consist of identification and evaluation of workplace hazards <br /> utilizing applicable sections of the Monthly Safety Checklist via iAuditor, and any <br /> other effective methods to identify and evaluate workplace hazards. <br /> 5. SAFETY DATA SHEET (SDS) <br /> Safety Data Sheets contain information about every chemical and hazardous <br /> substance used or in storage at Vander-Bend. The SDS documents describe <br /> contents of chemical and hazardous substances, how and where they are used <br /> at Vander-Bend. The Safety Data Sheets are stored on the server in the <br /> documents folder labeled:, !SDS-Safety Data Sheets. Employees with concerns <br /> or interests in chemical and hazardous substances used or in storage at Vander- <br /> Bend are encouraged to read the SDS documents. Employees that have <br /> questions or need clarification regarding any SDS document should ask the <br /> Production Manager. <br /> IIPP 01-21-2019 5 <br />
