0
• One domestic well exists onsite and is utilized presently. This well is believed to
have been drilled in 1965 and is 12 inches in diameter to a depth of 130 ft bgs.
Two irrigation wells are used onsite. Irrigation Well #2 was drilled in 1940 to an
estimated depth of 70 feet with a 10-inch surface seal. Irrigation Well #3 was
drilled in 1966. This data has not been confirmed. The locations of the domestic
and irrigation wells are presented on Figure 2.
• Approximately 143 wells were located within 1 mile of the site during a DWR
well log search. North-south and east-west trending geologic cross sections were
constructed using these logs. Geology beneath the site consists of interbedded
sand, silt, and clay, with shallow semi-continuous sand intervals at depths
between 30 to 60 feet below surface. The cross section location map and geologic
cross sections are presented as Figures 3, 4, and 5, respectively.
• After a reconnaissance of supply wells in the area, two water supply wells will
be sampled near the dairy and on the facility;
• Soils are composed of Acampo and Devries sandy loams and Tokay fine sandy
loam. The drainage is generally somewhat poorly to moderately well drained
with granitic alluvium parent material;
• Beneficial use—the primary use of ground water is for irrigation. No homes,
other than the owner's home, exist within the proposed land application area.
Greater than 20 homes exist within a quarter mile of the dairy and application
fields.
• Environmental setting-A railroad runs north-northwest and adjacent to two of
the application fields. A preliminary government regulatory database search
lists three sites with a half mile of the dairy facility. The Simplot Soilbuilders
facility, located within a half mile to the south of the dairy, is listed under the
RCRA Small Quantity Generator database, several underground storage tank
(UST) databases, and the California Hazardous Material Incident database. The
Grape Nursery,just west of the dairy facility,is listed under the CA FID UST
database as an inactive underground storage tank location. The MCI
Telecommunications Corp., within a quarter mile of the dairy facility to the
southwest, is listed under several UST databases and the local air pollution
agency toxics and criteria pollutant emissions database (EMI). The Woods Dairy
was listed under the Historical Underground Storage Tank Database as having a
diesel UST and a waste oil UST. Additional confirmation of these tanks will be
made in the Hydrogeologic Investigation Report. Eight other sites, located
within 0.5 to 1 mile of the dairy facility to the west, north, and northeast,will be
discussed in the Hydrogeologic Investigation Report;
Woods Dairy March 1,2010
103-27 Monitoring Well Installation Plan 2 Revision 1
