William Snavely
May 30, 1989
Page 2
Diamond Walnut Growers is in the process of retaining a contractor to
reline Tanks 1, 5, 6 and 8, in order to prevent future releases. Although
there is no indication that the release from Tank 5 resulted in excess
concentrations of propylene and/or ethylene glycol in the surrounding
soil, Diamond Walnut proposes to reline this tank as well as the other
tanks in order to ensure that there will be no further releases.
Diamond Walnut Growers expects to complete the tank relining project in
the near future. We will continue to keep you informed of our progress
in this matter. If you have questions or concerns about this project,
please do not hesitate to call me. We appreciate your cooperation and
look forward to working with you to resolve this matter expeditiously.
Sincerely,
Richard 0.
