GEOMATRIX
that the reference doses (RIDS) used to calculate the HIs are estimated based on small mam-
malian toxicity data which are divided by large uncertainty factors, it is unlikely that the resid-
ual petroleum hydrocarbons would cause a risk to ecological receptors if the HIs associated
with human receptors are below the target risk range.
5.0 CONCLUSIONS
This report documents the results of a health screening evaluation for potential health risks
associated with residual petroleum in soil and groundwater at the Surland Homes Property in
the City of Tracy, California. The screening evaluation, which was based on conservative
assumptions in the PEA, indicates that residual petroleum hydrocarbon constituents in soil and
groundwater do not pose an unacceptable health risk to hypothetical residents. In addition, it is
unlikely that residual petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater would pose a risk to
ecological receptors. Therefore, no further action is required and site closure is recommended.
1:\Doc_Safe\6000s\6447.00741RA\S=Iand HRA.doc 5
