Soil samples <br /> will be obtained at the depth which exhibits the greatest evidence of petroleum impactedfie✓/ <br /> soil,as determined through field observations. In addition,a grab groundwater sample �irrp'i <br /> will be collected from a temporary well casing in each boring location. If there is no <br /> evidence of petroleum impacted soil at the site,soil samples will be obtained at a depth of <br /> 5 feet below ground surface,and no grab groundwater samples will be collected. <br /> As per CPL's Technical Approach to Sire Evaluation and Decision-Making,Old Valley <br /> Pipeline Sias-Central Valley(March 20,1997;"Consistent Approach"),the soil and <br /> groundwater samples will be analyzed for the following constituents as described below: <br /> • The soil samples will be analyzed for benzene,toluene,ethylbetizene,and total <br /> xylenes(BTER)using U.S.Environmental Protection Agency(EPA)Method 8020, <br /> polyaromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)using EPA Method 8270 SIM,and total <br /> extractable petroleum hydrocarbons(TEPH)using EPA Method 8015M quantified <br /> against Crede oiL <br /> • The groundwater samples will be analyzed for BTE%using EPA Method 8020,PAHs <br /> using Method 8270 SIM,total purgable petroleum hydrocarbons(TPPH)using EPA <br /> Method 8015M quantified against gasoline,and TEPH using EPA Method 8015M <br /> quantified against diesel. <br /> SAN jOAQUEN COUNTY <br /> EN1,!! aNMENTAL HEALTH DIVISION <br /> 304 E.
