advanced further to collect the next soil sample run. Up to two soil samples will be
collected at each boring location. At locations GSB-1 through GSB-3, soil samples will
be collected at approximately 5 feet bgs and 10 feet bgs. At location GSB-4, soil
samples will be collected at approximately 4 feet bgs and 8 feet bgs. Sample depths
may be modified during the investigation based on field observations.
Soil samples will be analyzed by a State of California Certified laboratory for the
following constituents:
• Organochlorine pesticides by United States Environmental Protection Agency
(USEPA)Method 8081A; and
• Organochlorine herbicides by USEPA Method 8151.
Soil samples will be collected into laboratory-supplied sample containers and labeled
with project identification, sample location, analytical parameters, time and date of
sampling, and any preservative added to the sample. Samples will be stored in an ice-
cooled chest, maintained at approximately 4°C, for transport under standard chain-of-
custody procedures to TestAmerica Laboratories, Inc. (TestAmerica) located in
Pleasanton, California
4.3 Groundwater Sampling and Analysis
Three temporary monitoring wells constructed of 3/4 inch schedule 40 polyvinyl chloride
(PVC) casing will be installed in the three proposed soil borings to groundwater(GSB-1
through GSB-3). Groundwater samples will be collected from the temporary wells
using disposable polyethylene tubing fitted with a check valve or a peristaltic pump.
The depth to water will be measured and groundwater parameters including pH, specific
conductivity, dissolved oxygen, and oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) will be
monitored in the field prior to groundwater sample collection at each boring.
Groundwater samples will be analyzed for the following constituents:
• Dissolved metals including arsenic, barium, calcium, iron, magnesium,
potassium, and sodium by USEPA Method 6010B;
• Anions including nitrate as N, nitrite as N, sulfate, and chloride, by USEPA
Method 300.0;
• Bicarbonate by USEPA Method SM 2320B;
• Ammonia by Method SM 4500; and
• Total dissolved solids by Method SM2540C.
Groundwater samples for dissolved metals analysis that are collected from temporary
20131115 Manteca Phase II Work Plan 7 11.15.2013
