' Geo(ag cafTechnics Inc. • • Page 3
George's Service
Project No.: 425.2
February 7, 1997
• install 5 groundwater monitoring wells to further define the plumes lateral extent
• install 1 deep groundwater monitoring wells to define vertical extent
• test soil samples as required from each borehole for TPH-G, BTEX, and MTBE
• test water samples from each monitoring well for TPH-G, BTEX, and MTBE
• perform quarterly groundwater monitoring and reporting
• (optional-monthly groundwater level measurements)
• prepare a report summarizing all the site characterization data
Listed below is a proposed schedule for implementing this project.
Proposed Bidding of Project
To remain in compliance with the USTCFP, Geological Technics Inc. requested V&W Drilling
to prepare for drilling and installing the 6 groundwater monitoring wells. We have found V&W
to be very cost effective for three primary reasons:
• reasonable charge rate,
• fast drilling equipment,
• well trained crew.
These costs have been included in our budget spread sheet prepared giving estimated costs for
performing the work approved by SJCEHD. The budget spread sheet is attached and shows
itemized cost for the tasks proposed. In an attempt to make this Pre-Approval flow smoothly, we
have used the same unit costs for this work that has previously been approved by the USTCFP
for other projects.
Geological Technics Inc. accepts field support services and lab invoices and adds a 15%
overhead fee. We then pay these charges and assist George's Service in filling out the USTCFP
reimbursement claim. Construction contractors will invoice George's Service direct since
Geological Technics Inc. is not a licensed contractor.
Tentative Schedule for Implementing Work
Task Description Schedule
• Receive directive from SJCEHD for additional work Jan 9, 1997
• Additional Site Characterization Work Plan Addendum submitted Jan 20, 1997
• Receive written approval of plan, w/modification from SJCEHD Feb 3, 1997
• Prepare USTCFP Cost Pre-Approval for work plan Feb 7, 1997
• Receive approval of costs from USTCFP Mar 3, 1997
• Complete well survey work Mar 14, 1997
• Drill and install MW-4, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 102 Mar 28, 1997
• Perform Spring GW monitoring event Apr 11, 1997
• Prepare a Site Characterization Report May 16, 1997
• Perform Summer GW monitoring event July 18, 1997
