GeolorcalTechnics Inc Page 2
Groundwater Monitoring Report
Project No 425 2
February 9, 1999
o Floating product routinely detected in MW-2, which is located in the area of the former
USTs
o The contamination observed in MW-102 during 1997 and early 1998 has attenuated to a
large extent Preliminary natural biological degradation analyses indicate that the
groundwater at this aquifer horizon is in higher state of oxidation compared to the
shallow aquifer and the deeper zones This may attribute to rapid attenuation of the
gasoline over the past 2 years
0 The contamination observed in MW-202 has started to attenuate However, the
preliminary natural biological degradation analyses indicate that the groundwater at this
aquifer horizon may be in higher state of reduction compared to the intermediate depth
It is recommended that
o Future monitoring include a complete natural attenuation parameter analysis
o This site be evaluated for the need of source removal to provide needed protection to
public health and the environment
10 GROUNDWATER MONITOWNG
1.1 Hydrology of Site
1.1.1 Horizontal Groundwater Gradients
Water Table Wells
The average water table elevation at the site was 73 37 feet above mean sea level The water
table groundwater gradient was 0 0017 ft/ft flowing N39°E A review of the groundwater
gradients show that the dominant groundwater flow is in a northern direction with the slope
ranging from 00012 up to 0 0289 ft/ft The gradient direction for this event and the May 29,
1998 were more easterly then has been observed at the site in the past This may be a result
of having the entire site surveyed into a common plane Table 1 of Appendix A summarizes
the water table groundwater gradients and levels to date
Intermediate Delth Wells
The average groundwater elevation in the intermediate depth wells (MW-102, MW-105 &
MW-107) was 73 30 feet above mean sea level The intermediate depth groundwater
gradient was 0 0018 ft/ft flowing N60°E This is the first event when a gradient has been
calculated from the intermediate depth wells Table 2 of Appendix A summarizes the
intermediate depth groundwater gradients and levels to date Table 2 also summarizes the
groundwater level data from the deep well, MW-202
Figure 2 is a map showing both the water table and intermediate groundwater gradients
