Inman
Neumiller and Beardslee
509 West Weber Street
Stockton, California 95203
Subject Work Plan for Soil and Groundwater Investigation at Ruiz Grocery, 4491
West Durham Ferry Road, Tracy, California
Mr Inman-
At the request of Ms. Stella Rutz (RUIZ) and Neumiller and Beardslee (N&B),
representing RUIZ, RESNA Industries (RESNA) has prepared this Work Plan for a soil
. and groundwater investigation at the subject site (shown on Plate 1) The purpose of this
worts is to further evaluate hydrocarbons in groundwater and the lateral and vertical extent
of hydrocarbons in soil
3ACKGROUND
According to information, provided by N&B, the site is located on an approximately 650- by
700-foot parcel of land at the northwest corner of Durham Ferry Road and Bird Road, 7 5
miles from Tracy. The grocery store occupies a former gasoline service station that had one
dispenser island and two 1,000-gallon underground storage tanks, unleaded and leaded
gasoline were dispensed from one dispenser island
Information supplied to us indicates that three monitoring wells were installed at the site
and that dissolved gasoline hydrocarbons were detected in groundwater samples from the
wells In April 1993, groundwater beneath the site was 15 to lb feet below surface grade
(bsg), with a direction of flow toward the northeast and a hydraulic gradient of 0 001
According to N&B, gasoline hydrocarbons have been detected in soil near the tank cavity
and groundwater beneath the site Additional assessment is warranted to delineate the
extent of hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater, and evaluate whether offsite sources of
hydrocarbons have affected the groundwater beneath the site
123020-iw
