September 15, 1993 Working To Restore Nature
• Ruiz Grocery, 'Tracy, California
r
SCOPE OF WORK
Work will be performed in accordance with our Site Safety Plan (attachment) and follow
the methods and procedures in our Field Procedures (attached) RESNA will conduct the
following
Task 2: Pire-Field Activities
o Obtain permits from the SJC?P-S for drilling and inspection of wells after approval
of the work plan
o Obtain encroachment permits from San Joaquin County Department of Public Works
to perform Hydropunch sampling and drill wells in San Joaquin County right-of-way
r
'NsL 2: Field Operations and I[.a ho:raQory Analyses
o Observe a licensed well driller drill six 8-inch-diameter borings. three borings onsite
M and three borings offsite for Hydropunch sampling The soil borings will be drilled
with drilling rig equipped with hollow-stem augers The borings will be drilled to
approximately 15 feet bsg, the assumed top of groundwater, and the Hydropunch
sampler pushed approximately 3 feet into groundwater Groundwater will be allowed
to infiltrate into the sampler and a groundwater sample will be extracted from the
sampler for laboratory analyses Proposed hydropunch locations are presented on
Plate 2
o Observe a licensed well driller install four 2-inch-diameter monitoring wells on and
adjacent to the site The locations of the monitoring wells will be based on data
collected from Hydropunch sampling Plate 2 presents only an approximation of the
well locations The borings will be drilled to approximately 25 feet bsg, 10 feet
below assumed first groundwater elevation or less if a 2- to 5-foot thick low
permeability layer is encountered beneath the first encountered groundwater The
monitoring wells will be constructed with slotted interval from approximately 10 feet
below the first encountered groundwater to 5 feet above Drill cuttings will be
stockpiled on and covered with plastic and left at the site pending evaluation of
disposal options
o Observe a licensed well driller drill three 10-inch-diameter borings onsite in the
vicinity of the underground storage tanks If field evidence indicates that
hydrocarbons are present in soil, a vapor-extract ion well will be constructed in each
123MO-I W 2
