Teichert and Sons Property
103 North E Street
Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Knoll:
Stratus Environmental Inc. (Stratus) has prepared this Well Installation Work Plan (Work
Plan);--on behalf of A. Teichert and Sons, Inc. (Teichert), for the Teichert property
located ai-103 North E Street, Stockton, California (see Figure 1). In a letter dated May
24, 2007, 'San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) noted that
the subsurface extent..of previously identified 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) impact to
groundwater is not currently constrained within the existing groundwater monitoring well
network at the site. SJCEHD .requested, in the May 24, 2007 letter, that a work plan
.proposing well installations necessary to further constrain the extent of 1,2-DCA impact
to groundwater be submitted.
This Work Plan proposes the completion of 4 additional groundwater monitoring wells at
the site. The well locations, depths, and screening intervals proposed for each well were
developed based on our understanding of the site geology, hydrogeoiogy, interpreted
contaminant migration pathways, and previous characterization of 1,2-DCA impact.
Details associated with completion of the proposed well installations are described in the
following subsections of this Work Plan.
SITE DESCRIPTION
The site is a'-vacant property situated immediately north of the intersection of Weber
Avenue and D Street in south Stockton, California. The site was previously developed as
a maintenance and fueling facility for heavy construction equipment. A repair shop
situated in the central portion of the site was removed in 2005. A lubrication facility and
warehouse are situated on the southern property boundary.
