Soil and groundwater sample results will need to be evaluated using
the San .Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board
(SFBRWQCB) Environmental'Screening Levels .(ESL's) and reported
in a revised Site Conceptual Model.
EHD concurs with the recommendation by Stratus to conduct additional 1,2- DCA
ground water assessment. Stratus-has recommended placement of 3 permanent
monitoring wells to verify/confirm the CPT ground water grab sample results and aid in a
better evaluation of groundwater flow direction and plume migration. In order to evaluate
different intervals where 1,2- DCA was detected in CPT 10, CPT11, CPT12, and CPT13,
more than three MWs may be required. All detected occurrences of 1,27DCA must be 1
delineated in all directions.
Please submit a Work Plan, permit application, and fees by July 1, 2007 to confirm and
define the extent of ground water contamination south, southeast, and east of the
reported 1,2-DCA plume. After EHD has issued the permit and the work as been
performed, submit a report of findings with recommendations by September.1, 2007.
If you have any further questions regarding this matter, contact Harlin Knoll
at (209) 468-3442.
Donna Heran, RENS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Harlin Knoll, Senior REHS Margaret agorio, RENS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV Program Coordinator Unit IV I
Cc: SWRCB-Cleanup Fund
CVRWQCB-James Barton
Stratus Environmental-Jay.Johnson
I
