A. Teichert & Son, Inc.
_2_ May 13, 2009
Claim No. 000051
Documentation of regulatory direction for both the additional site assessment and the
risk assessment will be required for pre-approval and when submitting the
reimbursement request. We understand that the Fund's 5-year review unit
recommended that "regular monitoring be conducted over the next hydrologic cycle",
however, many sites in this region are being granted a reduction in monitoring
frequency, from quarterly down to semi-annually. The Fund recommends that your
consultant discuss all these matters with the regulator on this case to achieve the
quickest possible closure. - 1
If you would like to submit'a Pre-Approval request for preparation of your closure
request or related activities, including the tasks specified on the 18-month budget,
please go to the Fund website for the Pre-approval request form and instructions.
http://www.waterboards.ca.gov/water-issues) ro rams/ustcf/docs/cost rea roval/cos
tpreapproval.pdf
As with any Pre-Approval request, corrective action costs must be "reasonable and
necessary' (as determined by the Fund) for approved activities. And as always, the actual
amount of reimbursable cost will be determined when invoices for costs incurred (with
the reimbursement request package) are submitted to the Fund for reimbursement.
Status on Funding Availability:
For the most recent update on the availability of funding, please refer to the Fund's web
page: http://www.waterboards.ca.2ov/water issues/programs/ustcf/.
Should you have any questions regarding this letter, please contact Mark T. Matranga
at (916) 341-5833, or by email at mmatranga@waterboards.ca.gov.
ncerely,
Dennise Walker Y
Technical Unit Administrative Assistant
UST Cleanup Fund
cc: Mr. Harlin Knoll
San Joaquin County EHD
600 E.
