EEV{RONME9!iTALIN -
2460 Countryside Drive, Plac6rville, California 95667 Phone(530)295-1992 Fax(530)642-1760
F
August 30, 1999
2001-0103-01
Mr. George Takemori
A. Teichert & Son, Inc.
F.O. Box 15002
Sacramento, CA 95851
Re: Work Plan to Assess the Vertical Extent of Hydrocarbon Impact for A. Teichert and
Son, Inc. Facility, Located at 103 NoA E. Street, Stockton,
Dear Mr. Takemori:
Stratus Environmental Inc. (Stratus) has prepared this work plan to conduct an additional
assessment to evaluate the vertical extent of hydrocarbon impact beneath the site and to
evaluate the effectiveness of the soil vapor extraction system that previously operated at
the A. Teichert and Son, Inc. facility located at 103 North E. Street in Stockton(figure 1).
Stratus has prepared the following proposed',scope of work to complete the requirements
associated with the project objectives. The proposed scope of work is based on
information that Teichert has provided Stratus and from discussions with Mr. Harlin
Knoll of San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division
(PHS-EHD). Work will be performed in accordance with the RWQCB Tri-Regional
Guidelines.
SCOPE OF WORK
The primary objective is to determine the vertical extent of hydrocarbon impact in the !
vicinity of MW-13 and MW-14, where petroleum hydrocarbons were observed at depths E
of 90 feet below ground surface (bgs) durmg;Pa previous investigation. To accomplish this
objective, one soil boring drilled to a depthof 100' feet bgs is being proposed. Figure 2
presents the proposed boring location and oilier site features. However, as requested by
PHS-EHD in their July 27, 1999 letter, the boring should continue until field observations
and field screening indicates no contamination exists. The proposed drilling activity will
also enable collection of soil samples from',approximately 30 to 90 feet bgs to evaluate
the effectiveness of the soil vapor extractionsystem that targeted that depth.
Teichert-work plan 1
