TEICHERT 6 SON
soil-Groundwater Assessment
103 North E Street
Stockton, California APR 2 2 `71
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
PERMIT/SERVICES
This report is a summary of work completed and in progress to
April 1, 1991, at this site relating to hydrocarbon clean-up.
Tank Removal
Two (2) underground gasoline tanks and one (1) waste oil
tank were removed in the fall of 1988. One (1) additional diesel
tank was removed in the summer of 1988.
Hydrocarbon contamination was di3covered with the removal of
the two gasoline tanks. J.H. Kleinfelder's "Soil and Groundwater
Assessment" dated April 27, 3987, concluded that approximately
1,000 cubic yards of soil was contaminated with an estimated
1,700 gallons of hydrocarbons mostly associated with the piping
leaks rather than tank leakage.
There was minor contamination around the fill of the tank
removed in the summer of 1988 and this contamination was removed
prior to backfilling. Excavation and aeration of the 1,000 cubic
yards started September 15, 1987 and area approximately 38 feet
by 47 feet was excavated to a depth of 38 feet and 1,700+ cubic
f ,: yards of soil were removed for aeration on site.
