The full report of installing Monitor Wells 9, 10 a-nd 11 is
presented in the "Phase II Investigation Report" dated duly 7,
1990. At the time, Monitor Wells 9, 10 and 11 were installed no
contamination was found in any soil samples. Monitor Well 10 had
a TPH level of 58 ug/l while Monitor Well 11 had a Benzene level
of 1.0 ug/1 and TPH level of 4L0 ug/l.
The 2" casing on Monitor Well 9 partially collapsed at a
depth of 30 feet, probably due to heat or hydration of the grout,
therefore, a 1 diameter sampler must be used to bail and obtain --
samples.
Sampling Procedures March 19 1991
Monitor Well 9 (2" Well) : Fourteen (14) gallons were bailed
by pump from this well and contained using an air operated 1/2"
diameter pump and a 1/4" diameter discharge tube. At completion
of bailing, the 1/2" diameter pump tube was Permitted to fill
viith water and the entire tube was retracted on a reel and the
samples then taken from the tube.
Monitor Well 10 (2" Well) : Four (4) gallons were bailed
using a 1- Teflon ba-1 and samples were taken using the
same bailer.
Monitor Well 11 (4" Well): Twenty (20) gallons were bailed
from this s well using a 3" PVC bailer. Samples were taken using
the same bailer.
All nater bailed from the wells was barrelled on site.
Plastic sheeting and reels were used on the surface to prevent
contamination of boilers, pumps and lines.
Temperatures, conductivities, Ph, TDH, and Chlore depths to
_ water were also measured. A minimum of 2-1,000 ML and 4-40 ML
samples were tank taken from each well, 2-40 ML samples were
preserve with HCL acid. 2-40 ML samples were not preserved.
i
i All samples were refrigerated and delivered with chain of
custody to the laboratory.
Table 1 presents the results of water analysis.
Table 2 presents depth to water table, gradients and
directions. .
SUMMARY
The groundwater gradient has varied from approximately S 200 -
E to N 200 E during the year from March 90 to March 91 and
during the same period depth to groundwater has fallen from 42+
feet deep to 70+ feet deep. The regional groundwater gradient is
2
1
.f '
