.c7 CliYISXOl3 OF <br /> kMEkTAL SOLUTIONS EmCon <br /> 0 <br /> November 16, 1998 <br /> Project OF90-002 05 <br /> Mr George Takemori <br /> Equipment Administrator <br /> A Teichert & Son, Inc <br /> P O Box 15002 <br /> Sacramento, California 95851 <br /> Re Groundwater Samphng, Analysis, and Site Closure Report for A Teichert & Son, <br /> Inc , Facility, I,,ocated at 103 North E Street, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Takemori <br /> At the request of A Teichert & Son, Inc (Teichert), Pinnacle Environmental Solutions, a <br /> division of EMCON (Pinnacle), has prepared this groundwater sampling, analytical y <br /> results and site closure report for the Teichert Stockton Maintenance Facility located at <br /> 103 North E Street, Stockton, California This report summarizes the results of a recent <br /> groundwater sampling event conducted in September and October 1998 at the site (see <br /> Figure 1) Groundwater monitoring consisted of measuring depth$ to groundwater, <br /> collecting groundwater samples from the wells for subjective and laboratory analyses, <br /> and evaluating the groundwater gradient and direction of groundwater flow beneath the <br /> site In addition, this report presents further discussion and rationale for site closure as <br /> previously requested in 1996 <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located at the intersection of North E Street and Weber Street and is within an <br /> industrial zone In October 1986, two 5,000-gallon gasoline underground storage tanks <br /> (USTs) and one 1,OO-gallon waste-oil UST were removed from the Teichert equiprilent <br /> site ("Problem Assessment Report and Final Remediatibn Plan," EMCON, December 16, <br /> 1992) These tanks were not replaced In September 1987, overexcavation of the impacted <br /> soil near the former tank complex was completed Based on safety and sidewall stability <br /> considerations, the overexcavation was terminated at a depth of approximately 38 feet <br /> below ground surface (bis) Residual concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> remained in the soil at the north-central side of the excavation where the pump island was <br /> located, at the bottom (38 feet bgs) center of the tank excavation, and near the northwest <br /> corner of the excavation <br /> In August 1988, a 10,:000-gallon regular gasoline storage tank was removed ("Problem <br /> Assessment Report and Final Remediation Plan," EMCON, December 16, 1992) Two soil <br /> samples were collected from the tank excavation for laboratory analysis One of the samples <br /> CM 1TEICHERT1QTRLYIST0CK-GW DOC-45\159 i <br /> 3939 Cambridge Road Suft 220 Cameron Park California 95682 (530)676 6884 (530)675 6885 Fax fA <br />
