Box 15002
Sacramento, California 95851
Re: Underground Storage Tank Removal and Confirmation Soil Sampling, Teichert
Stockton Maintenance Facility, 103 North E Street, Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Takemori:
Pinnacle Environmental Solutions (Pinnacle), a division of EMCON, has prepared this
report of activities associated with the removal of underground storage tanks (USTs) and
product dispensers, and collection of confirmation soil samples at A. Teichert and
Son, Inc. (Teichert) maintenance facility located 103 North E Street, Stockton, California
(Figure 1). Confirmation soil sampling was performed by a Pinnacle geologist under the
direction of Matthew Parker of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services,
Environmental Health Division (SJCPHS/EHD). Teichert retained Town & Country
Contractors, Inc., of Rancho Cordova, California to excavate and remove USTs, product
dispensers, and associated piping. This report also summarizes additional excavation
and confirmation sampling activities performed to remove hydrocarbon impacted soil
identified during the initial UST removal.
SITE DESCRIPTION
Three steel USTs were located southeast of the existing fuel dispenser island. There
were two 20,000-gallon diesel fuel USTs (tanks #5 and #6) and one 12,000-gallon diesel
fuel UST (tank #8) that was previously used for unleaded gasoline. Locations of the
USTs and fueling islands are presented on Figure 2.
UST REMOVAL
On March 23, 1999, a Pinnacle geologist was on-site to observe the excavation and
removal of the three USTs. The USTs had been previously exposed, pumped dry,
• inerted with dry ice, and prepared for removal. Approximately 750 cubic yards of soil
overburden was stockpiled on-site for evaluation and disposal. The USTs appeared to be
<<
3939 Cambridge Road,Suite 220 Cameron Park,California 95682 (530)676-6884 (530)676.6885 Fax
