Ground Zero Analysis, Inc.
• SITE SAFETY PLAN
FACILITY BACKGROUND
The site was previously operated as a retail service station from the 1950s through 1991 dispensing
both gasoline and diesel fuels An underground storage tank (UST) containing unleaded fuel faded
during a routine precision test in 1990 resulting in a release of approximately 300 gallons of fuel.
All USTs were reportedly removed in April 1991 Evidence of release of fuel was noted during
removal Numerous soil borings and three groundwater monitoring wells have been installed in an
effort to determine the vertical and lateral extent of soil and groundwater contamination The
primary contaminant in soil and groundwater is gasoline fuel
WORK PLAN
i
Task One: Advance up to seven (7) soil bonngs using a hand auger to depths of approximately
six (6) feet below ground surface in areas of previously documented soil contamination to
determine current concentrations of residual soil contamination resulting from past site operations
Task Two: Advance four (4) to six (6) borings in the northern portion of the site to determine
the nature of heavy petroleum hydrocarbons noted in subsurface soils along Grandme Road
Task Three: Grout borings, ground truth borings, clean up site
•
PAGE
