Cummings and Associates (JPCA) is pleased to forward to you this Proposed Workplan for the soil characterization at a site located at 405 North Edison:` in the City of Stockton, San Joaquin County, Ca. The location is shown in Figure 1 . In accordance with your instructions, after you review this proposal , a copy will be sent to Jeffery C. F. Wong, San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD) . BACKGROUND The auto-body repair shop, acquired in 1968 by Roy Fowler, located on the subject site was reported to have been destroyed by fire and explosion on Monday, ;.:September 20 , 1999 according to the "THE RECORD", Stockton's daily newspaper. The property, located in the industrial section of Stockton, near the Channel, is approximately square lying south of Fremont Street, east of Baker Street, west of Edison and north of the former Colberg Boat Works. 1t is '!proximate to the Stockton Deep Water Qhannel . All buildings, on the subject property, were razed and the subject site is essentially level . The building- rubble which remained including the concrete slab was razed with the debris removed. During this demolition operation it has been reported two Underground Storage"Tanks (UST) were discovered. It is reported that two UST, onekwith an estimated 10, 500 gallon $ capacity and the other with an estimated 1 , 800 gallon cagacity, 1 were removed in accordance with applicable permits and protocol from the subject property on April .12, 2000 .
