Cummings and Associates (JPCA) is pleased to forward to <br /> you this Proposed Workplan for the soil characterization at a <br /> site located at 405 North Edison:` in the City of Stockton, San <br /> Joaquin County, Ca. The location is shown in Figure 1 . In <br /> accordance with your instructions, after you review this <br /> proposal , a copy will be sent to Jeffery C. F. Wong, San Joaquin <br /> County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division <br /> (SJCEHD) . <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The auto-body repair shop, acquired in 1968 by Roy Fowler, <br /> located on the subject site was reported to have been destroyed <br /> by fire and explosion on Monday, ;.:September 20 , 1999 according to <br /> the "THE RECORD", Stockton's daily newspaper. <br /> The property, located in the industrial section of Stockton, near <br /> the Channel, is approximately square lying south of Fremont <br /> Street, east of Baker Street, west of Edison and north of the <br /> former Colberg Boat Works. 1t is '!proximate to the Stockton Deep <br /> Water Qhannel . All buildings, on the subject property, were <br /> razed and the subject site is essentially level . The building- <br /> rubble which remained including the concrete slab was razed with <br /> the debris removed. During this demolition operation it has been <br /> reported two Underground Storage"Tanks (UST) were discovered. <br /> It is reported that two UST, onekwith an estimated 10, 500 gallon $ <br /> capacity and the other with an estimated 1 , 800 gallon cagacity, <br /> 1 <br /> were removed in accordance with applicable permits and protocol <br /> from the subject property on April .12, 2000 .
