Eight Mile Road
Stockton, California
WKA No. 1004.41
Introduction
We are submitting this workplan for a subsurface soils evaluation at the U.S. Sprint property at
6855 W. Eight Mile Road. Previous work on the property is summarized in our Subsurface Soils
Evaluation report of January 11, 1991, which we have included for your review.
Site Description and History
The subject property is northwest of Stockton, California, in a predominantly rural area. The
northern portion of the property is bounded by a river levee. A relay station for the U.S. Sprint
Corporation, which rests on an elevated building pad approximately ten feet above original grade,
is located on the site. An underground diesel tank, installed on the site as a fuel source for the
station's emergency generator, has been removed (Plate 1). We do not possess any
documentation of the tank removal. As described in our report of January 11, 1991, diesel
contamination was discovered in the area of the former tank and product line. Motor oil
contamination was also discovered, which appeared to be a result of asphalt contained in the
fill near the former tank and product lines.
i
3050 INDUSTRIAL BOULEVARD PC BOX 1137 WEST SACRAMENTO,CA 95691 (916)372-1434 FAX(916)372.2565
w
