Soil samples for laboratory
testing will be taken in the native soils, as possible. Samples will be screened in the field with an
organic vapor analyzer (OVA). Sample tubes will be sealed with aluminum foil, plagtic caps and
wrapped with tape.
f
Selected samples will be preserved on ice and submitted under chain-of-custody to a certified
analytical laboratory(Western Environmental Science and Technology)for analysis of total petroleum
hydrocarbons (TPH), benzene, toluene, xylene and ethyl benzene (BTX&E). The samples will be
tested on an immediate basis and the detection levels will be 0.5 mg/kg for TPH and 0.005 mg/kg for
BTX&E. Any contaminated soil generated during drilling will be stored on-site in sealed 55-gallon
drums until disposal or remediation of this soil has been approved by the appropriate regulatory
agency. All borings will be tremie backfilled with a 4 to 5-sack cement grout. All work will be
performed under the direct supervision of a registered geologist.
Upon completion of our field work and the laboratory testing, we will prepare a formal report which
will include:
• a site plan showing locations of borings
• logs of borings
ilaboratory test results with chain-of-custody
• conclusions regarding the extent of soil contamination, if any
• recommendations for remediation of contaminated soil and/or further investigation,
if necessary.
Please call us if you have any questions regarding the proposed scope of work.
Wallace - Kuhl & Associates, Inc.
Anthony Sarac'
Certified Engineering Geologist #1420
attachments: Site Plan
Laboratory Test Results
Site Safety Plan
Copy of Boring Permit
xc: Jeff Post, Post Tank
i
