Delayed Second Quarter 1995 Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> King Island Resort Site Code 1557 <br /> 11530 W Eight Mile Road, Stockton, California <br /> Mr Infurna <br /> This letter report is presented to update site activities performed in the second quarter 1995 at <br /> 11530 West Eight Mile Road, Stockton, California (Figure 1) Site activities included <br /> abandonment of groundwater monitoring well MW-4, installation of replacement groundwater <br /> monitoring well MW-4R, development and sampling of the newly installed well, and quarterly <br /> groundwater monitoring and sampling An extension to the second quarter 1995 groundwater <br /> monitoring and sampling was granted by Michael Infurna of the PHS/EHD on July 5, 1995 <br /> ABANDONMENT OF GROUNDWATER MONITORING WELL <br /> In accordance with the "Letter Addendum to Workplan for Site Investigation" submitted to the <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/El-ID) on <br /> August 17, 1995, Smith Environmental Technologies Corporation (Smith Environmental) <br /> destroyed groundwater monitoring well MW-4 on August 21, 1995 due to it being infiltrated <br /> with organic debris Spectrum Exploration of Stockton, California (C57 #512268) conducted <br /> the well destruction by overdrilling the polyvinyl chloride (PVC) casing and sandpack in the <br /> boring with hollow-stem augers However, during the well destruction it was noted that native <br /> clay was present in the well screen casing at approximately 6 0 to 6 5 feet below ground surface <br /> (bgs) In addition, this 5-foot section of well screen was found to be unattached to the bottom <br /> 10 feet of well screen The top of this bottom 10-feet of wellscreen casing was not observed <br /> in the boring before overdrilling began The sandpack was drilled out of the boring, however, <br /> the wellscreen was not recovered or drilled out PVC was not visible in the cuttings from the <br /> drilling Upon consultation with the PHS/EHD inspector on-site, Michael Infurna, the boring <br /> 4F <br /> N 1150LMQQR-1995 WP5 <br /> 2720 Main Street - Escalon,CA 95320 (209) 838-3507 • fax(209)838-3509 <br /> Engtneenng - Consulting - Remediation - Construction <br />
