Mr. Andrew Smith - 2 - • 16 July 2003
ASTs, but the Work Plan does not propose any borings in between these two locations.
H&H Marina needs to propose additional sampling in these areas to further define the
extent of pollution and determine whether the concentrations are related to the ASTs.
4. The Work Plan proposes three of the borings to a depth of 16 feet below ground surface
(bgs) and one boring to the vertical extent of pollution as determined by the organic vapor
meter reading. H&H Marina needs to discuss which boring is proposed for the vertical
delineation and the justification for proposing samples to only 16 feet bgs when
concentrations of constituents of concern were detected in MW-6 samples down to 55
feet bgs.
5. The Work Plan proposes to submit soil samples for laboratory analysis, but does not
discuss how many soil samples from each boring will be tested or how the field geologist
will determine which soil samples to submit for analysis. H&H Marina must include this
information.
6. The Work Plan does not include a time schedule to complete the proposed activities.
H&H Marina needs to include a schedule to complete the field activities and submit an
investigation report that details the results of the activities performed.
7. H&H Marina needs to revise Appendix A to either include the tables referenced in the
text or to reference which report contains the listed tables.
By 15 August 2003, please submit a revised work plan that addresses the above comments.
H&H Marina needs to consider monthly groundwater level measurements for all site monitoring
wells to better define the seasonal groundwater flow directions. As stated in Regional Board
staff's 8 May 2003 letter, a work plan for an interim remedial action is due by 25 July 2003.
