<br /> tight, traffic-rated well boxes were then installed over the completed wells.
<br /> Soil Samples
<br /> • A total of 30 soil samples were collected from soil borings B14 through B17 and
<br /> MW11 through MW14 in the hydrostratigraphic interval between the vadose zone
<br /> and HU4.
<br /> • Vadose: Soil samples MW11-10, MW12-10, MW13-10 and MW13-13 were collected
<br /> from the vadose zone. TPH-g was detected in MW11-10 and MW13-13 at
<br /> concentrations of 1.4 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) and 8.8 mg/kg, respectively.
<br /> TPH-d was detected in MW11-10, MW13-10 and MW13-13 at concentrations of 300
<br /> mg/kg, 160 mg/kg and 1,200 mg/kg, respectively. The BTEX compounds
<br /> ethylbenzene and xylenes were detected only in sample MW13-13 at concentrations
<br /> of 0.01 mg/kg and 0.049 mg/kg, respectively.

<br /> HU 1: Soil samples B14-4, B15-1, B16-1, B16-4, B16-8, B17-3, 1317-9.5, MW11-15,
<br /> MW11-20, MW11-30, MW12-13, MW14-10 and MW14-13 were collected from HU 1.
<br /> TPH-g was detected in samples B15-1, B16-1, B16-4, B16-8, B17-9.5, MW11-15
<br /> and MW11-30 at concentrations ranging from 1.0 mg/kg (MW11-30) to 2,100 mg/kg
<br /> (816-4). TPH-d was detected in samples B15-1, B16-1, B16-4 and MW11-15 at
<br /> concentrations ranging from 250 mg/kg (1315-1) to 9,000 mg/kg (1316-1). BTEX
<br /> compounds were detected in samples B15-1, B16-1, B16-4, B16-8, MW11-15,
<br /> MW11-20 and MW11-30 at maximum concentrations of 64 mg/kg benzene in
<br /> sample B16-1 and 530 mg/kg toluene, 200 mg/kg ethylbenzene and 1,090 mg/kg
<br /> xylenes in sample B16-4.
<br /> • The fuel additive MTBE was detected in samples B14-4, B15-1, B16-1, B16-4, B16-
<br /> 8, B17-3, and B17-9.5 at concentrations ranging from 0.019 mg/kg (614-4) to 94
<br /> mg/kg (1316-4); MTBE was detected by TCLP in samples B15-1, B16-1, B16-4, B16-
<br /> 8, B17-3, and B17-9.5 at concentrations ranging from 0.013 milligrams per liter
<br /> (mg/1) in sample B17-3 to 11 mg/I in sample B16-1. The fuel additive TAME was
<br /> detected in sample B17-9.5 at 0.12 mg/kg.
<br /> • HU2: Soil samples B14-14.5, B15-14/16, B16-16, B17-11.5, B17-15 and MW11-40
<br /> were collected from HU2. TPH-g was detected only in sample B17-11.5 at a
<br /> concentration of 1.3 mg/kg. TPH-d was not detected in HU2 samples. The BTEX
<br /> compounds toluene and xylenes were detected in sample B14-14.5 at
<br /> concentrations of0.022 mg/kg and 0.015 mg/kg, respectively, and ethylbenzene and
<br /> xylenes were detected in sample B15-14.16 at concentrations of 0.1 mg/kg and 0.2
<br /> mg/kg, respectively.
<br /> • The fuel additive MTBE was detected in all HU2 samples except MW11-40 at
<br /> concentrations ranging between 0.01 mg/kg (1316-16) and 1.3 mg/kg (1317-11.5);
