Quarterly Report - Second Quarter 2003 <br /> HERMAN AND HELEN'S MAR1[NA <br /> 15135 Eight Mile Road, Stockton, California <br /> 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr Andrew Smith,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared the <br /> enclosed quarterly report of environmental activities conducted at 15135 Eight Mile Road,Stockton, <br /> California The scope of work included quarterly ground water monitoring, surface water sampling <br /> and preparation of this report <br /> Monitoring wells MW-2 through MW-10 and extraction well EW-1 were monitored and sampled, <br /> and two surface water samples were collected from the island drainage channel during the <br /> second quarter 2003 Surface water samples could not be collected this quarter from the north and <br /> south ends of the drainage ditch(DDN and DDS)due to the absence of water in the drainage ditch <br /> The site and the surrounding area are illustrated in Figure 1 Structures and monitoring well and <br /> sampling locations are illustrated on Figure 2 Ground water monitoring and sample analytical data <br /> from September 1997 to the present are summarized in Tables 1 and 2 Detailed site background <br /> information can be found in Appendix A <br /> ! 2.0. PROCEDURES <br /> Field work was conducted and this report was prepared in accordance with Monitoring and <br /> Reporting Program (MRP) No 5-01-835, dated 05 June 2001, and guidelines established by San <br /> Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) for sampling ground water monitoring <br /> wells <br /> 2 1 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION <br /> On 11 June 2003, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in <br /> monitoring wells MW-2 through MW-10 and extraction well EW-1 relative to the tops of the well <br /> casings After water level measurements were recorded,either disposable plastic bailers or a Watera <br /> inertia pump with dedicated tubing were used to purge the monitoring wells of standing water The <br /> wells were evacuated in order of least contaminated to most contaminated, based on previous <br /> morutonng data <br /> Approximately 4 00 to 5 25 gallons of water(a minimum of 3 casing-water volumes per well)were <br /> removed from wells MW-2 through MW-5, MW-9 and MW-10 Approximately 25 75 to <br /> 28 25 gallons of water were removed from wells MW-6 through MW-8 and 73 75 gallons of water <br /> were removed from well EW-1 Groundwater temperature,pH and conductivity were measured at <br /> regular intervals during purging using an Oakton water analyzer Field sheets and data are included <br /> Advanced GeoEavnronmeatal,Inc. <br />
