• 30 July 2003 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 01-0865 <br /> Page 2of6 <br /> in Appendix B Purged water was stored on-site in labeled, 55-gallon Department of Transportation <br /> (DOT)-approved drums <br /> 2 2 COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> A water sample was collected from each purged well using a new disposable plastic bailer or a <br /> dedicated hose bailer Each water sample was transferred into three 40-m1 VOA vials containing <br /> 0 5 ml 18%hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative The samples were properly labeled,placed <br /> in a chilled container and transported under chain-of-custody to Cal Tech Environmental laboratories <br /> (CTEL)a State of California Department of Health Services(DHS)-certified analytical laboratory <br /> Selected samples were analyzed for <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA <br /> Method 8015 Modified, <br /> • Benzene,toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) in accordance with EPA Method <br /> 8260B, and <br /> a Fuel additives including di-isopropyl ether(RIPE),ethyl tertiary-butyl ether(ETBE),methyl <br /> tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary-butyl alcohol <br /> (TBA), ethanol and methanol by EPA Method 8260B <br /> 2 3 COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF SURFACE WATER SAMPLES <br /> Water samples were collected from the east and west ends of the island drainage channel(IDCE and <br /> IDCW)using new disposable bailer(Figure 2) Each water sample was transferred into three 40-m1 <br /> VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative The samples were <br /> properly labeled,placed in a chilled container and transported under chain-of-custody to CTEL The <br /> samples were analyzed for <br /> • TPH-g in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified, <br /> • BTEX in accordance with EPA Method 8260B, and <br /> • Fuel additives including DIPS,ETBE,MTBE,TAME,TBA,ethanol and methanol by EPA <br /> Method 826013 <br /> Advanced GeaEnvironmental,Inc <br />
