' 01 November 2002
AGE-NC Project No 01-0865
' 32 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLES
A total of 22 soil samples were analyzed for TPH-g, BTEX, MTBE and five fuel additives
' TPH-g was detected in soil samples collected from bonngs MW6 and MW7 at a maximum
concentration of 4,000 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg), in sample MW6-5
IBenzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes were detected in soil samples collected from
borings MW6 and MW7 at maximum concentrations of 34 mg/kg, 310 mg/kg, 110 mg/kg and 720
' mg/kg, respectively, in the sample from MW6-5
MTBE was detected EPA Method 8260B in'soil samples collected from borings MW5, MW6 and
' MW7 at a maximum concentration of 56 mg/kg, in sample MW6-5
TBA was detected in soil sample MW7-5 at a concentration of 0 30 mg/kg,and TAME was detected
' in MW6-5 and MW7-5 at a maximum concentration of 2 2 mg/kg(MW6-5),no other fuel additives
were found at or above laboratory detection limits
' None of the analyzed compounds were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in the soil
samples collected from boring MW8 and MW10 A cross section showing MTBE, benzene and
' TPH-g concentrations is provided in Figure 4
Analytical results of soil samples are sunimanzed on Table 1 The laboratory reports (CTL Project
' No CT214-0210086), quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) report and chain-of-custody
forms are included in Appendix D
' Laboratory results of bacterial bioenumeration and physico-chemical analysis were not available at
the completion of this report, because of the lengthy laboratory turn-around times,AGE will submit
the analytical results as an addendum to this report
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
' Based on the data collected from the site, AGE concludes
' • Three major lithologies were found at the site, a black, wet to saturated peat from surface `
grade to approximately,12 feet bsg A green-gray,damp to saturated clay,clayey-silt,silt and
clayey sand layer from approximately 12 feet bsg to 50 feet bsg, with a lens of brown, fat
' clay found between approximately 28 feet to 32 feet bsg And a black, saturated, fine to
medium, well to poorly graded sand from approximately 50 feet bsg to 60 feet bsg
i'
IAdvanced GeaEnvironmental,Inc
I
i
