INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr Andrew Smith,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared the <br /> enclosed quarterly report of environmental activities conducted at 15135 Eight Mile Road,Stockton, <br /> California The scope of work included quarterly ground water monitoring and surface water <br /> sampling,and preparation ofthis report Monitoring wells MW-2,MW-3 and MW-4 were monitored <br /> and sampled and three surface water samples were collected during the third quarter 2002 Quarterly <br /> monitoring was conducted in accordance with Monitoring and Reporting Program (MRP) No <br /> 5-01-835, dated 05 June 2001 <br /> The site and the surrounding area are illustrated in Figure 1 Structures and monitoring well and <br /> sampling locations are illustrated on Figure 2 Ground water monitoring and sample analytical data <br /> from September 1997 to the present are summarized in Tables 1 and 2 A detailed site history can <br /> be found in Appendix A <br /> The lateral and vertical extent of impacted soil has generally been defined The lateral extent of <br /> MTBE-impacted ground water has only been defined to the west of the AST system, the vertical <br /> extent of impacted ground water has not been defined <br /> 2.0. PROCEDURES <br /> Fieldwork was conducted and this report was prepared in accordance with MRPNo 5-01-835,dated <br /> 05 June 2001, and guidelines established by San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> (EHD) for sampling ground water monitoring wells - <br /> 21 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION <br /> On 27 September 2002, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water <br /> in monitoring wells MW-2, MW-3, and MW-4 relative to the tops of the well casings <br /> After water level measurements were recorded, disposable plastic bailers were used to purge the <br /> monitoring wells of standing water Approximately four to five gallons of water(a minimum of 3 <br /> casing-water volumes per well)were removed from each well Ground water temperature,pH and <br /> conductivity were measured at regular intervals during purging using an Oakton water analyzer <br /> Field sheets and data are included in Appendix B Purged water was stored on-site in labeled, <br /> 55-gallon Department of Transportation (DOT)-approved drums <br /> i <br /> Advanced GeoEnvsronmentai,Inc <br />
