• 19 November 2002 <br /> AGE-NC Prod ect No 01-0865 <br /> Page 2 of 5 <br /> 2 2 COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> A water sample was collected from each purged well using a new disposable plastic bailer Each <br /> water sample was transferred Into three 40-m1 VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18%hydrochloric acid <br /> as a sample preservative The samples were properly labeled, placed In a chilled container and <br /> transported under chain-of-custody to Cal Tech Envlronniental laboratories (CTEL) a State of <br /> California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified analytical laboratory Selected samples <br /> were analyzed for <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) In accordance with EPA <br /> Method 5030/8015 Modified, <br /> • Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) in accordance with EPA Method <br /> 8260B, and <br /> • Fuel additives including di-isopropyl ether(DIPE),ethyl tertiary-butyl ether(ETRE),methyl <br /> tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary-butyl alcohol <br /> (TBA), ethanol and methanol by EPA Method 8260B <br /> 23 COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF SURFACE WATER SAMPLES <br /> Water samples were collected from the north end of the drainage ditch(DDN)and the east and west <br /> ends of the Island drainage channel(IDCE and lDCW) using a polyethylene dipper cup (Figure 2) <br /> A sample was not collected from the south end of the drainage ditch (DDS) due to the absence of <br /> water Each water sample was transferred Into three 40-m1 VOA vials containing 0 5 ml -18% <br /> hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative The samples were properly labeled, placed In a chilled <br /> container and transported under chain-of-custody to CTEL The samples were analyzed for <br /> • TPH-g In accordance with EPA Method 5030/8015 Modified, <br /> • BTEX in accordance with EPA Method 8260B, and <br /> • Fuel additives including DIPE, ETBE,MTBE,TAME,TBA, ethanol and methanol by EPA <br /> Method 8260B <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
