SOIL AND GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION <br /> ' REPORT <br /> Herman & Helen's Marina <br /> Venice Island Ferry <br /> Stockton, California 95219 <br /> ' September 26, 1995 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> Condor Earth Technologies, Inc. (Condor) conducted a soil and groundwater investigation at <br /> ' Herman & Helen's Marina located at Venice Island Ferry, Stockton, California (Figure 1, Appendix A, <br /> Location Map). The investigation was conducted in accordance with the Soil and Groundwater <br /> tInvestigation Work Plan, prepared by Condor, dated May 30, 1995. The work plan was approved by <br /> the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) and the local Reclamation District <br /> ' #2029. The results of the investigation are presented in this report. <br /> ' The purpose of the work was to investigate the extent of gasoline and diesel contamination <br /> associated with underground storage tanks (USTs) formerly located at the site (Figure 2, Appendix A, <br /> ' Site Map). The fieldwork conducted during the investigation included the drilling of three (3) <br /> hydropunch boreholes (HP-1, HP-2, and HP-3) and the collection of soil and groundwater samples <br /> ' from each borehole. All work was conducted at the direction and approval of the SJCEHD and the <br /> Reclamation District. This report was prepared by Condor at the request of Mr. David Smith, <br /> ' President, Herman and Helen's Marina. This report includes a discussion of the site background and <br /> a description of the fieldwork and laboratory analyses conducted during the investigation. <br /> ' Recommendations are presented in Section 4.0 of this report. <br /> ' 2.0 SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The subject site is located on Eight Mile Road, at Venice Island Ferry, approximately 5 miles <br /> ' northwest of Stockton, California, (Figures 1 and 2, Appendix A). On October 30, 1991, Warren E. <br /> Gomes Excavating, Inc., of Rio Vista, California, excavated and removed three (3) USTs (TK1, TK2, <br /> ' and TK3) from the site.
