Mr. Ronald
' Rowe of the PHS/EHD verbally approved the proposal for additional investigation during a telephone
conversation with Condor in mid-February, 1996.
' 3.0 PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK
t This section includes a description of the proposed site preparation, Geoprobe boring,
sampling, laboratory analysis, and reporting.
3.1 Site Preparation
' Prior to the fieldwork, authorization will be obtained from Reclamation District #2029 for the
work to be conducted on the levee. Adjustments will be made to the scope-of-work, as needed, to
' satisfy the Reclamation District requirements.
' Upon receipt of authorization from the Reclamation District, drilling permits will be obtained
from the PHS/EHD. The proposed sampling locations will be marked with white paint and
Underground Service Alert (USA) will be notified at least 72 hours in advance of the fieldwork to
locate and identify underground utilities in and near the work area. The PHS/EHD, the Reclamation
District 92029 (or Reclamation District representative), and the CRWQCB will be notified of the
' fieldwork schedule at least 72 hours in advance. No work will take place on the levee during times
when the Reclamation District suspects tides may create dangerous working conditions.
3.2 Drilling Procedures
' The fieldwork will include the boring of five (5) Geoprobe sampling points at the proposed
locations shown on Figure 2, attached. The Geoprobes will be installed by Vironex Environmental of
Foster City, California. A description of the Geoprobe sampling system is contained in Appendix B
of this document. A Condor geologist will be on site to supervise all work. Prior to commencement
' of fieldwork, a tailgate safety meeting will be held and a site-specific Health and Safety Plan will be
discussed with, and presented to, all crew members for their signatures. A copy of the Health and
Safety Plan is contained in Appendix C of this document.
1
• CONDOR
