' WORK PLAN <br /> SOIL AND GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION <br /> Herman & Helen's Marina <br /> ' Venice Island Ferry <br /> Stockton, California 95219 <br /> May 30, 1995 <br /> 1.0 IlVTRODUCTION <br /> ' This work plan describes a proposed soil and groundwater investigation to be conducted by <br /> Condor Earth Technologies Inc., (Condor), at Herman & Helen's Marina located at Venice Island <br /> Ferry, Stockton, California (Figure 1, Location Map). The work plan was prepared in accordance with <br /> a letter directive from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD), to David <br /> ' Smith, dated May 19, 1995. The purpose of the work is to further investigate the extent of gasoline <br /> and diesel contamination associated with former underground storage tanks (USTs) at the site. The <br /> work plan was prepared by Condor at the request of Mr. David M. Smith, President, Herman & <br /> Helen's Marina. <br /> All work conducted by Condor will be performed under the supervision of a California State <br /> ' Registered Geologist or Professional Engineer on Condor's staff. Fieldwork and reporting will be <br /> conducted in accordance with the SJCEHD and the California Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> ' (CRWQCB) guidelines and requirements. This work plan includes a discussion of the site background <br /> and a description of the proposed fieldwork and laboratory analyses. <br /> ' 2.0 SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The subject site is located on Eight Mile Road, at Venice Island Ferry, approximately 5 miles <br /> northwest of Stockton, California, (Figure 1, Location Map). On October 30, 1991, Warren E. Gomes <br /> Excavating, Inc., of Rio Vista, California, excavated and removed three (3) USTs (TKI, TK2, and <br /> TK3) from the site. The USTs contained gasoline and diesel fuel. A Condor representative was on <br /> site during the UST removal to collect soil samples. Carol Oz of the SJCEHD was on site to observe <br /> the field activities. A small hole was located on the lower exterior of TK3 (diesel tank). Petroleum <br /> ' staining and odors were noted in the soil beneath the former locations of the USTs. Groundwater was <br /> N� <br /> �� CONDOR <br />
