E!
BUD
Monitoring of off-ai[e Well
' !!
141 N.EI Dorado Ave.,Stockton,CaVornia
E
lEf
`I
You have indicated that you would like Shell to monitor the well to assess potential
hydrocarbon migration from the 141 N. El Ddrado site. Because the well has already ' j
been impacted from an unknown hydrocarbon source, we do not believe sampling it will
provide any information useful to the SJCPHDIEHD with regard to the Shell site. It 1
should be noted that groundwater recovery'] from the downgradient wells has been
ongoing at the Shell site since March 1993, controiling any potential off-site migration. :
Also, since April 1991, TPH as gasoline concentrations in the farthest downgradient well,
MW-4, have never been as high as the 790 ppb reported in the American Savings Bank
well. This clearly implies another source and further questions the value of sampling the
well to aid in the Shell site investigation. _ r
if you have any questions or comments, please call Fugro at (916) 782-2110, or Mr. Lynn
Walker of Shell at (510) 675-6168.
fE M1
Sincerely,
FUGRO WEST, INC.
 Et
if v
Paul GraffE
Senior Hydrogeologist
CA Registered Geologist No. 5600 .E
.E
EE
cc: L.
