T MNSM <br /> 5.2 Phase loll - Carbon Adsorption System <br /> The Thermal Oxidizer was removed on July 13, 1992 and replaced with the Granulated <br /> Activated Carbon (GAC) treatment system The Phase II Carbon Adsorption System consists <br /> of one 5 horsepower regenerative blower and two 2000 pound granulated activated carbon vessel <br /> arranged for series operation The carbon vessels are utilized as the off-gas treatment <br /> technology to remove the residual hydrocarbon vapors from the vapor extraction wells <br /> Weekly monitoring has been conducted to document system performance During this <br /> ' monitoring, weekly influent and monthly effluent air samples have been collected Routine <br /> maintenance of the Carbon Adsorption System has been also conducted during this time <br /> ' Laboratory analyses from the Carbon Adsorption System will be submitted upon receipt <br /> Due to the limited timeframe associated with the sale and development of the site, RESNA <br /> Industries feels that soil closure sampling is warranted at this time Information gathered dunng <br /> closure sampling will be utilized as a basis to request for immediate regulatory closure for the <br /> soil <br /> 6.0 PROPOSED CLOSURE BORINGS <br /> RESNA Industries, on behalf of C M Weber Enterprises, Inc proposes to complete the <br /> following worksteps to provide data on current subsurface conditions This information will <br /> provide the basis for negotiations for obtaining closure of the vadose zone portion of the protect <br /> ' To document current hydrocarbon concentrations within the vadose zone, RESNA Industries <br /> proposes to drill, log, and sample 9 soil borings Proposed soil boring locations are shown in <br /> ' Figure 6 Boring locations, when possible, will be located near previously dnlled borings that <br /> contained known hydrocarbon concentrations All soil borings will be advanced to a total depth <br /> ' of 32 feet below grade Drilling will be conducted by a licensed drilling contractor using a <br /> hollow-stem auger drill rig <br /> R070792 TLP 7 <br />
