13.12 Soil & Groundwater Sampling <br /> Skin and ete contact with contaminated soil may occure during these tasks. Nitrile <br /> butyl rubber or neoprene gloves and approved safety goggles should be worn when <br /> contact with contaminated substance and/or splash is possible. <br /> ' 13.13 Sample Preservation <br /> When hydrochloric acid us used, skin and eye contact can occur. This hazard can be <br /> reduced with the use of Nitrile butyl rubber or neoprene gloves and the use of safety <br /> goggles. <br /> 13.14 Cleaning Equipment <br /> E ui ment <br /> tSkin and eye contact with methanol, Alconox or other cleaning substances can occur <br /> while cleaning equipment. This hazard can be reduced with the use of Nitrile butyl <br /> rubber or neoprene gloves and the use of safety goggles. <br /> 14.4 EMERGENCY COMMUNICATION <br /> Work areas (exclusion zones) will generally be staged within short walking distances of each <br /> other so that personnel in one area may quickly and directly summon assistance from other <br /> work areas. <br /> The telephone will be the primary means of communicating with sources of assistance not in <br /> ' the immediate work area. The FSS will have a cellular phone on-site for use in emergencies <br /> The on-site personnel must also be able to accurately describe their work location(s) <br /> ' accurately to authorities in the event of an emergency requiring outside assistance. <br /> 14.1 Fire <br /> ' A dry chemical fire extinguisher will be carried with each drill rigfor <br /> use against <br /> small fires. <br /> ' Only Factory Mutual (F approved fire safety cans <br /> will be used to transport and <br /> store flammable liquids. All gasoline and diesel-driven engines requiring refueling <br /> ' must be shut down and allowed to cool before filing.
