RPM-SOH and Groundwater Investigation
Gateway Project,City of Stockton
I
._ .. `Ari]10,200U
u Page-7-
PID measurements 'above-the instrument detection limit of I ppm total organic vapors were not present in
the groundwater samples collected from.GPI, GP2, GP4, and GP5. ;A slight petroleum hydrocarbon odor
was noted in the groundwater sample collected from GP 1.
Each groundwater sample, was.gently pumped into the appropriate laboratory-supplied containers. The
` sample containers were sealed; labeled, and placed in a cooler chilled with ice for delivery under chain-
of-custody procedur'e's to GeoAnalytical Laboratories, Inc. of Modesto,California, for analyses.
L . -=.,- - —
3.5 LABORATORY ANALYTIC
_ AL METHODS AND RESULTS
The soil and groundwater=samples collected, from the Geoprobe borings were analyzed. for methyl..
_ tertiary but' 1 ether (MTBE) and benzene t
y ( ) ,_aoluene; ethyl benzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) by EPA
Method 8020. -The soil:and groundwater samples were also analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons
quantified as gasoline (TPH=G) by Method 5030/LUFT and for total extractable petroleum hydrocarbons
(TEPH) quantified as kerosene, diesel andmotor. oil by Method .3550/LUFT '(soil) -and' Method
3510/LUFT(groundwater):"-
3.54 Results of Soil Samples
The laboratory analytical .results.indicate that TEPH quantified as motor oil was detected at a
= concentration of '131 milligrams-per-kilogratii (mg/kg) in the soil sample collected from GP5 at
approximately 24 feet bgs. '.None of the other analytes were detected at or above the laboratory reported `
detection limits in that sample. BTEX, MTBE, TPH-G,-and TEPH were not detected at or above the
laboratory rdported detections limits in any of the other soil samples collected from borings GP2 through
{' = GP5. BTEX, MTBE;TPH-G,and TEPH were not detected at or above the-laboratory reported detection
limits in the soil samples-collected.from GPI at approximaiely 12 and 30 feet bgs. ;Total'xylenes and _
TEPH quantified as diesel were detected at concentrations of 5.7 micrograms per kilo am and.
` gT p g (jig/kg)
3.0 mg/kg, respectively,"in the soil sample collected from GPI at approximately f6-feet bgs. Ethyl
benzene, total xylenes,..and TPH-G were detected at concentrations of 10 gg/kg, 27 Ag/kg,!'and 5.9
mg/kg, respectively; in:the 3soil sample collected from GPI at approximately 26 feet bgs. None of theJ.
_
es were detected at or-above the:laboratory reported detection limits in the soil samples
other anal
collected from.GP I at 16 and 26 feet bgs.
t CONDOR
