Report-Soil and Gmuwdwater Investigation
} Gateway Project,City of Stockton --- -
April 10,2000
Pap-10-
Field observations indicated that the Ysoil encountered in the borings was predominantly clay and sandy
clay. Groundwater was encountered at 25; 1.5, 24 and 17 feet bgs in_GPI-, GP2, GP4, and GPS. Slight to
moderate petroleum'hydrocarbon odors were noted in some of the soil samples collected from GPI, GP2,
and GP3. No petroleum Hydrocarbon odor was noted in the soil samples collected from GP4 and GP5.
A slight petroleum h drocarbon odor-::was noted in the
p Y groundwater sample collected from GPi.
Petroleum hydrocarbon odors were not noted in the groundwater samples collected from GP2, GP4, and
GP5. The PID detected total organic vapors'at low concentrations in some of the soil samples collected
from each of the borings, but did not detect-total organic vapors in any of the groundwater samples at or
above the instrument detection limit. - u.
The laboratory analytical results indicated- that.TEPH quantified as motor oil was: detected at a
concentration of 13 mg/kg in the soil sample collected from GP5 at approximately 2'4 feet bgs. None of
the other requested analytes were detected at:or above the laboratory'reporte-d detection limits in that
sample.. Therequestedanalytes were not detectcd at or above the laboratory reported detection limits in
- any of the,other soil samples collected frotn'borings GP2.through GP5. BTEX, MTBE, TPH-G, and
TEPH were.not detected at or above the laboratory reported detection-limits in the soil samples collected
from" GPI :at approximately_12 .and,30 feet bgs. Total-xylenes. and TEPH quantified-as diesel,were
detected at.concentrations~of 5.7'4g/kg and 3.0 mg/kg, respectively, in the soil sample collected from
GPI at approximately 16 feet bgs.._- Ethyl benzene, ,total xylenes, and, TPH-G were detected at
concentrations of 10 4g/kg; 27 µg/kg, and 5.9 mg/kg, respectively, in the soil sample collected from GPI
at approximately 26 feet bgs.-None oftheother analytes..were-detected at or above the laboratory
reported detection limits in the soil samples collected from.GPI at 16 and 2b feet bgs.
MTBE and TEPH quantified as diesel,;;kerosene and motor oil were not detected.:at or above the-
laboratory reported 'detection limits in any of the groundwater samples. BTEX and TPH-G were not
detected at or above the laboratory reported detection limits in the groundwater samples collected from
GP2, GP4;and GP5.`"TPH-G and BTEX were detected at 4.8 mg/1 and 7, 4, 23, and-99 ug/l,respectively;
in the groundwater sample'collected from GPT.
CONDOR
i - -
